ShineMate Rotary Spot Polisher Kit EP804K, 3"

Picked up the EP803 to learn the rotary on, and the manageable size and weight make learning technique easier. Doesn't hurt that it's really well built, has a soft start and smooth stepless speed controls too. Can run at speeds 1-2 for hours with no issues, just give it sensible rests between passes. Kit comes with literally everything you could need to get started. Managed to get great mirror finishes with the soft pads after just a couple of hours of fooling around. I have found that the Shinemate pads aren't the best for heavy cutting though, but you can't have it all! Anyway, trying to do an entire car with 3in pads is very slow going. Going to try 5in Koch Chemie heavy cut pads and a better cut compound, internet feedback seems to suggest this little machine can run up to 5in pads just fine. If it does, this thing is the perfect one-tool for weekend detailers! You can then hit larger panels, tighter spots/curves, lights, and door jambs -- all in one tool.
